el primer capítulo de la triste historia del faro que se enamoró de la luna
Capítulo I
1. EMPEZAMOS PENSANDO
Todo el mundo sabe para qué sirven los faros y para qué sirven los barcos, pero ¿quién sabe para qué sirve la luna?
– Para que haya lunáticos -responde un chiflado.
– Para que haya hombres lobo -dice un aficionado a las películas de terror.
– Para que los enamorados sean románticos -piensa una muchacha enamorada.
– Para enseñar fracciones -se le ocurre a un matemático algo rarillo-: cuarto creciente, cuarto menguante, cuarto y mitad…
– Para inspirar canciones y poemas -cantan a coro un músico y una poeta.
– Para que haya mareas en los mares -afirma un físico.
– Para que aúllen los perros -supone la dueña de un pastor alemán.
– Para que el toro enamorao abandone por las noches la maná -cita una cantante de coplas.
– Para competir con el haz de luz de los faros y guiar a los barcos a buen puerto -se le ocurre a un inventor de historias.
Y aún hay más.
Por ejemplo, una adivinanza juega con que la luna llena es un agujero en la noche. Entonces, el faro sería… ¿una grieta en la noche?, ¿un rayo invertido, es decir, que sale de la tierra y va a las nubes?, ¿un guiño que en vez de seducir navíos, los alerta y salva de naufragar?… En fin, así podríamos continuar durante páginas y páginas, pero es hora de empezar la historia que queremos contarte.
Como todas las historias, ésta ocurre en un tiempo y en un lugar; tiene unos personajes que viven las peripecias; también hay un narrador que la cuenta -ése soy yo-, y tiene una manera de ser contada.
Así que, como tiene tantas cosas, será mejor que vayamos por partes.
1. WE BEGIN THINKING![]()
Everyone knows what a lighthouse is for and what a ship is for, but who knows what is the moon for?
-So there are moonstruck people –one crazy person responds.
-So that we can have werewolves- a fan of horror movies says.
-So that the lovers are romantic – thinks a girl in love.
-To teach fractions -it occurred to an odd mathematician- quarter growing, quarter waning, quarter and half…
-To inspire songs and poems – a musician and a poet sings in chorus.
– So that there are tides in the seas- a physique affirms.
-So that the dogs howl- the lady owner of a german shepherd supposes.
-So that in the nights the bull in love abandons the herd – quotes a singer of ballads.
-So as to compete with beams of lights from lighthouses guiding ships to a safe port – it occurred to an inventor of stories.
And there is still more.
For example, a riddle that plays with a full moon as a hole in the night. Would the lighthouse be then …a crack in the night?, an inverted ray, that is to say that it leaves the ground and goes to the clouds?, a wink that instead of seducing ships, does the alert and saves shipwrecks?… In short, we could continue for pages and pages, but it is time to begin the story we want to tell you.
Like all stories, this happens at a time and at a place; it has some characters that live these adventures; there is also a narrator who tells it– that is me – and it has a way of being told.
Thus, it has so many things, it will be better that we go by parts.
